Honoring State Rep. Tackey Chan with the Dennis F. Ryan Community Award

 

Quincy, MA ~ The Quincy Democratic City Committee will host their 30th Annual Breakfast on Sunday, October 21st at 10am. The breakfast will take place at the Quincy Sons of Italy at 120 Quarry Street.


The Committee is pleased to announce that the 2018 Dennis F. Ryan Community Award will be presented to State Representative Tackey Chan.  City-Wide Chair Alicia Gardner on behalf of the Committee said, “This award, given in the name of a gentleman who was passionate in his support and beliefs of the Democratic Party is being awarded to an individual such as Tackey who exemplifies those principals through his words and deeds.  

Tackey Chan is a dedicated member of the Quincy Ward 5 Democratic City Committee.  State Rep. Chan has represented the Second Norfolk District since first being electing to the Massachusetts House in 2010.  He is currently serving in his fourth term and is the Chair of the Joint Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure.  Prior to his election Tackey worked as an Assistant Attorney General in Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office of Ratepayer Advocacy from 2007 to 2010.  From 1995 to 2007 he worked as the General Counsel and Legislative Director for State Senator Michael W. Morrissey. Tackey volunteer service in the local community is extensive.  He is a founding member and past president and treasurer with Quincy Asian Resources, a board member to Work, Inc., a company dedicated to the empowerment of people with disabilities and has worked with many community organizations, including Quincy Community Action Program, the South Shore’s anti-poverty agency. City-Wide Chair Alicia Gardner said “We are delighted to recognize State Rep. Chan’s work on behalf of the Democratic Party and the community of Quincy.”   

Tickets per person are $30.00 pre-event, or $35.00 at the door.  Sponsorship tables are also available for $300. For tickets, make checks payable to the Quincy Democratic City Committee (QDCC) and mailed to, Alicia Gardner, 41 Deerfield Street, North Quincy, MA 02171.  Tickets will be held at the door.


The Quincy Democratic City Committee is a Committee of 200 plus members and associate members.  There are 6 Committees for each of the 6 Wards in Quincy.
