Quincy Dems Inaugural MLK Jr. Day of Service
Monday January 21, 2019
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
“Everybody can be great… because anybody can serve.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Quincy Democratic City Committee presents our inaugural Day of Service! The purpose of the Day of Service is to be a visible, unified force in our state through work done in the local communities.
Volunteer opportunities available throughout the day! We will be making bagged lunches for Father Bill’s Place, a homeless shelter in Quincy. We will be making the lunches in the morning at the Stop & Shop Community room. We will then deliver the lunches in the afternoon, followed by a tour of the facility.
9:00 am – 1:30 pm: Prepare bagged lunches
Stop & Shop Community Room, 65 Newport Avenue Quincy, MA 02171
Drop in any time between 9:00 am and 1:30 pm to help prepare the bagged lunches. Our aim is to pack 100 bagged lunches. Whatever time you have available to help is needed!
1:30 pm - 2:00 pm: Transport bagged lunches
We particularly need people with vehicles to help carry the bagged lunches.
2:00 pm- 3:00 pm: Deliver bagged lunches and shelter tour
Father Bill’s Place, 38 Broad Street, Quincy, MA 02169
Join us to help deliver the bagged lunches, which will be followed by a tour of the shelter. If you were unable to help in the morning, you are still welcome to take part in the afternoon tour.
